Abstract
The classical method for determining 17-ketosteroids in urine is applied to 1 ml. of urine. The hydrolysis and extraction is carried out in 25 ml. penicillin-flasks. Special wooden stands and covers allow the simultaneous extraction of 10 specimens. Distilled water blanks as well as 3 levels of standard dehydro-isoandrosterone are run simultaneously to provide internal calibration. The coefficient of variation was [plus or minus] 5% at a level of less than 5[mu]g./ml. urine, [plus or minus] 2% for 10[mu]g. and was negligible above 20[mu]g.
