Abstract
The genealogy is widely recognized as a valuable tool in the study of nonindustrial societies. Its value in the study of industrial societies is often overlooked. This article demonstrates the utility of the genealogy in helping to understand the meaning of kinship resources to the elderly in two ethnic groups in greater Boston.Keywords
