Abstract
Accelerated life tests carried out over 10000 h at temperatures below 200°C suggest that UV written gratings in hot hydrogenated boron germania codoped silica fibres can be made to have vanishingly small changes in the reflectivity when held for 80°C over 25 years if they first receive an appropriate burn-in.Keywords
