Abstract
The paper gives some informto about the effect of the value of the smoo- thing reactance on torque ripple and amorthing r winding current variations. Valuetisseur ap angles are compared in the two ca- ses of a battery supply and of a rectifier ly. The ripple in the torque, line voltage and phase current, are studied in the case of a rectifier supply. The safety of operation is considered from the points of view of characteristic angles and of a " potential peak short circuit current" which i defined in the paper, and which expresses the ability of the machine to ensure a natu- commutation. Keywords
