Effect of Sham Feeding on Bile Flow in Cholecystectomized Dogs

Abstract
Summary In contrast to the true chole-retic effect of insulin hypoglycemia and feeding in chronic cholecystectomized dogs, sham feeding produced only a slight hydrocholere-sis. An increase in gastric secretion in the same dogs indicated effective vagal stimulation. These results add another difference between sham feeding and insulin-hypoglyce-mia in their effects on the digestive tract.
