Abstract
Renal venous blood in unanesthetized human subjects was withdrawn through a venous catheter, inserted into an antecubital vein, and directed fluoroscopically into the renal vein. The cone, of renin was detd. on 10 ml. of plasma and was found to be present in small amts. in the renal venous plasma of 7 of 12 hypertensive patients and in similar amts. in 7 of 12 patients with normal blood pressure. The significance. of these findings in relation to the etiology of human hypertension is discussed. Keywords
