Abstract
Intraven injn. of protamine sulfate in fasting rats produces a rise in serum lipids and lipoproteins. When protamine is injd. simultaneously with lipoproteins, it delays clearing of these substances from blood. Toluidine blue produces the same effects to a lesser degree. These effects appear to be mediated through the anti-heparin activity of the 2 drug. Heparin and/or heparinoids may play a physiologic role in the transport of blood lipids. Keywords
