Abstract
The purpose of this note is to report the diary questionnaire methodology developed for the 1983 Nebraska Visitor Survey (NVS). This methodology resulted in a 62% response rate. Further, although it is much more complex than the diary methodology used for previous NVS studies, the 1983 methodology is actually less expensive. For a target of 1,000 usable data cases, data collection by the 1983 methodology is approximately 41% less expensive than the diary methodology used for previous Nebraska Visitor Surveys. Assuming constant non-data collection costs, the overall cost of the 1983 method is approximately 26% less expensive than the 1978 method. Keywords
