Subnanosecond pulse generation of 193 nm radiation by pulse slicing

Abstract
An optical gate and associated techniques are described for the generation of subnanosecond UV radiation from pulsed lasers. Pulses of 400 ps duration at 193 nm have been produced by pulse slicing the output of an ArF laser using a KDP electro-optic modulator driven by a krytron-cable voltage pulse generator.
