Abstract
The 5 diets compared (in expts. on rats) were, with the exception of 1, essentially simple mixtures of whole wheat and whole milk powder. At 1 mo. of age the Hb concn. increased from 9.2 to 12.6 gms. per 100 cc. and varied as the Fe content of the ration. At 1 yr. of age the Hb concns. were divided roughly into 2 groups and were independent of the Fe content of the diet. With 3 of the diets values of 15.3 gms. for the [male][male] and 14.4 gms. for the [female][female] were obtained and with the other 2 diets an increased concn. of 16 gms. for the [female][female] and 15.7 gms. for the .This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
