Abstract
We have performed detailed studies of the structure, magnetotransport, and magnetization of Fe/Cr superlattices as a function of systematic changes in interfacial roughness. The results clearly show that the giant magnetoresistance is enhanced by the presence of roughness. This fact indicates that interfacial roughness should be explicitly included in theoretical calculations and experimental characterization of superlattices exhibiting giant magnetoresistance. Keywords
