Electric Quadrupole Transitions nearA=16: the Lifetimes of theN160.120-,F181.125-,F190.197-, andNe190.241-MeV Levels

Abstract

Continuing a program to study $E2\mathrm{}$ lifetimes in the neighborhood of $A=16\mathrm{}$, we have remeasured the mean lifetimes of the following states: the 0.197-MeV level of ${\mathrm{F}}^{19}$; the 0.241-MeV level of ${\mathrm{Ne}}^{19}$; the 0.120-MeV level of ${\mathrm{N}}^{16}$; and the 1.125-MeV level of ${\mathrm{F}}^{18}$. We find (129.9±2.3) × ${10}^{-9\mathrm{}}$sec, (26.6±1.2)×${10}^{-9\mathrm{}}$ sec, (7.58±0.09) × ${10}^{-6\mathrm{}}$ sec, and (221±21) × ${10}^{-9\mathrm{}}$ sec, respectively.
