THE CONGENITALLY RUDIMENTARY GONAD SYNDROME

Abstract
The term "congenitally rudimentary gonad syndrome" has been employed to designate sexual infantilism due to gonads intrinsically incapable of responding to pituitary stimulation. It, accordingly, applies to both sexes. In the female, the term "congenitally rudimentary ovary syndrome" may be used. Discussion of the syndrome in the female has included consideration of its eponyms and pseudonyms, clinical findings, the clinical and pathologic spectrum, diagnosis, and treatment and prognosis.
