Hadronic decays of charmed mesons

Abstract
Hadronic branching fractions for the charmed mesons D0, D+, and the expected F+ are predicted on the basis of models embodying a minimum of dynamical assumptions. These models entail average decay multiplicities between 3 and somewhat over 4. Suggestions are made for observing the F+, for which the wide variety of available final states makes detection in any one state challenging. The branching ratio Γ(F+K+Kπ+)Γ(F+hadrons) is probably ≲3-6%; Γ(F+K+K¯0)Γ(F+hadrons)46%; Γ(F+π+η)Γ(F+hadrons)34 %.
