Abstract
When milking cows were fed 5-8 ounces of cod-liver oil in one feeding each day, a marked depression of test and a large increase in iodine number occurred. When the same amt. of oil was fed in 12 feedings each day, generally no such marked depression of test or increase in I number occurred. When the oil was fed in 12 feedings each day and a depression of test occurred, there was likewise a concomitant increase in I number. These results indicate the possibility that some saturation takes place during the digestion and absorption of highly un-saturated fats. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
