Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 60-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of fever and lymphadenopathy.She was well until one month earlier, when a mild sore throat developed, with fever, enlarged cervical lymph nodes, malaise and fatigue. A throat culture yielded a growth of streptococci, and penicillin was begun. Fatigue persisted, and occasional night sweats occurred. She became nauseated and lost 5 kg in weight. Erythromycin was substituted, without benefit. For several days before entry the temperature rose as high as 39.5°C.There was history of exertional dyspnea during the preceding year.
