Abstract
Hemicellulose A was prepared from the sapwood and heartwood of English oak before and after various methods of drying (air, kiln, oven-dried). With increasing severe conditions of drying the hot water and NaOH extracts of wood increase in amount and the hemicellulose A decreases. The pentosan content of hemicellulose A also decreases as the treatments become more severe. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
