Composition of ewe's milk

Abstract
Determinations were made of the major constituents of ewe''s milk, of its amino acid composition and its content of 8 B-complex vitamins. With the exception of folic acid, pantothenic acid and vitamin B6 the contents of B-vitamins in ewe''s milk were much higher than those in cow''s milk. A higher content of total solids, protein and fat in ewe''s milk compared with cow''s milk may be related to the higher growth rate of the new-born lamb compared with that of the calf.
