Abstract
A discussion is given of the contribution to the Mössbauer linewidth in quasi-one-dimensional antiferromagnets with Ising anisotropy due to thermal excitation of moving domain walls ("kinks" or "solitons"). Experimental data on chain compounds are presented that confirm the predicted exponential temperature dependence of the linewidth.
