Abstract
High-pressure X-ray diffraction studies up to 40 GPa on praseodymium (Pr) metal reveal the presence of alpha uranium above 20 GPa. The appearance of this structure is related to the participation of f electrons in bonding, in close analogy with cerium (Ce) and americium (Am).Keywords
