Abstract
The acquisition and cross modal generalization of receptively and expressively trained signing skills were investigated in a retarded deaf girl. The experiment was prompted by some of the results obtained in a previous study. After the subject was trained to point to colors in the presence of manual color signs, she was able to demonstrate the correct manual signs in presence of the color stimuli. The study failed to demonstrate experimentally that the acquisition of the expressive signing skills was caused by the training in receptive sign discrimination. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
