Fat, Carbohydrate, Salt, and Weight Loss

Abstract
Eleven studies were performed on nine obese subjects. Fat and carbohydrate were interchanged in an 800-kcal constant-protein diet. No difference in rate of weight loss was noted apart from that attributable to alterations in sodium- and fluid-balance dynamics. Nitrogen excretion was remarkably low on all regimens. These results confirmed those from our previous studies involving a lower protein intake.
