Hyperfine Interactions ofVKCenters

Abstract

Contributions to the magnetic hyperfine splitting from the combination of electronic spin-orbit interactions and orbital interactions of the unpaired electron with the nuclear spins have been shown to be considerable by Schoemaker for the $V_K$ center. It is the purpose of this paper to indicate another contribution which arises from the dipole-dipole interaction of the unpaired electron with the nuclei and from the spin-orbit interaction. The magnitude of this term is of the same order as that previously considered.
