Abstract
A refined idiogram of common oats, A. sativa, is presented. The chromosomes, based on their structure and size, are divided into four groups which based on individuality, have been further divided into subgroups. Chromosomes of the As genome were separated from those of genomes C and D. Although the primary purpose of this idiogram is to facilitate the classification of chromosome deficient, trisomic and tetrasomic lines, the idiogram can also be considered as a standard for detecting potential karyotypical alterations.
