Abstract
Analysis of a characteristic sample of Bence-Jones protein obtained from the urine of a patient in the terminal stages of multiple myelomatosis gave the following results (calc. as % on the moisture-and-free ma- terial): ash 0.4, moisture 7.5, total N 14.7, amide-N 1.0, humin-N 0.14, S 1.34, P < 0.01, tyrosine 8.8, tryptophan 1.4, cystine 2.9, methionine 0.58, arginine 3.6, histidine 0.90, lysine 4.0, proline 6.3, hydroxyproline nil, phenylalanine 6.1. Comparison with other analyses indicates that the protein is of variable composition. This publication has 18 references indexed in Scilit:
