Abstract
Recovery of 6 yeast spp. [Candida albicans, C. guilliermondii, C. parapsilosis, C. tropicalis, Cryptococcus neoformans and Torulopsis glabrata] from blood was comparable in commercially prepared brain heart infusion biphasic and Trypticase soy biphasic media. An increased recovery of 13% was noted when 2 bottles, each containing 5 ml of blood, were cultured, as compared to a 5 ml portion in a single culture bottle. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
