Abstract

In 32 normal dogs, 16 [male][male] 16 [female][female], the weighted average for total blood volume was 7.18 cc, and for cell volume, 3.43 cc. per 100 gm. body wt.; plasma %, 52.3; red cell count, 7.17 millions per cu. mm.; red cell diameter, 7[mu]; white cell count, 8.76 thousands per cu. mm. of blood. The weighted average per 100 cc. of blood for total protein was 19.64 gm.; for Hb, 14.11 gm.; for non-Hb, 6.64 gm.; for N.P.N., 34.4 mgm.; urea N, 11.04 mgm.; creatinine, 1.52 mgm.; amino acid N, 10.77 mgm. No significant sex differences were observed in any of the physical or chemical measurements reported.
