Discovery of the Missing Two-Particle, Two-Hole0+States inCa40

Abstract
A good-resolution study of the reaction Ca42(p, t)Ca40 has revealed the existence of three new 0+ states in Ca40 at 7698, 8284, and 8438 keV excitation. Arguments are presented to show that these states are indeed the long sought-after 0+, T=0 states with predominantly two-particle, two-hole configurations.
