Zr90(d, p)Zr91Reaction at Energies below 4 MeV

Abstract
Angular distributions of the ground-state protons from the Zr90(d, p)Zr91 reaction have been measured at five bombarding energies in the region 2.7<Ed<3.6 MeV. Distorted-wave Born approximation calculations for the reaction are in essential agreement with our observations and with predictions based on higher energy data for proton and deuteron elastic scattering and for deuteron stripping. It is concluded that it should be possible to employ stripping theory to determine nuclear spins, parities, and spectroscopic factors at low bombarding energies just as the theory has been previously employed at higher energies.
