Abstract
Comparison was made of the serum and urine of patients with multiple myeloma, using paper electrophoresis for separation of proteins, combined with the Schiff test for indetification of carbohydrate. Differences in electrophactic pattern of the Bence-Jones protein in the urine and in the serum appear to be due to the absence of polysaccharide material in the former. No liplds were found in either substances. Keywords
