THE EFFECTS OF RENIN AND OF ANGIOTONIN ON THE RENAL BLOOD FLOW AND BLOOD PRESSURE OF THE DOG

Abstract
Both renin and angiotonin decrease the blood flow in the renal artery and increase arterial pressure. A few observations on the flow in the femoral artery showed that both renin and angiotonin caused a diphasic effect consisting of an initial transient decrease followed by a somewhat more pronounced and prolonged increase. Pento-barbital sodium anesthesia did not seem to alter the hemo-dynamic effects of these substances.
