Abstract
General forms of 4*4 solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation, without the additivity of spectral parameters, are obtained. By making a parameterization of the colours in terms of the spectral parameters the authors shed new light on the coloured solution of the Yang-Baxter equation. Keywords
