An Electrophoretic Study of Purified Thrombin.

Abstract

Isoelectric point and mobility determinations were made on purified bovine bio-resin thrombin using paper electrophoresis. Bio-resin thrombin was prepared by fractionating bio-thrombin on an ion exchange resin. The mobility of this purified thrombin was 3.14 x 10-5 cm2/volt/second in a veronal buffer of pH 8.6 and 0.1 ionic strength. The isoelectric point was shown to be 5.6.
