Abstract
The paper shows that in load flow calculations performed by Newton's method one can estimate, as a by-product of the solution, the steady-state stability of the operating condition in question. In order to make this estimate more reliable and to improve convergence of the iterative solution it is expedient to use a modified Newton's algorithm - supplemented with proper alterations of the iterative corrections. The practical ways to determine the steady-state stability limits are also described in the paper. Keywords
