Abstract
The occurrence of corneal rings in association with the rejection response of corneal interlamellar heterografts and the similarity of these rings, grossly and histologically, to the immune rings seen in association with the "Wessely phenomenon" is reported. There is evidence for an immune basis of the corneal rings which are observed in association with the rejection of corneal heterografts. A method is described to induce corneal neovascularization in order to enhance the graft-rejection response. Keywords
