Abstract
Crystal evaporation proceeding by the terrace‐ledge‐kink mechanism is treated by a computer simulation technique in which ledge creation at some source is treated simultaneously with the motions and interactions of the ledges. Time dependences of the surface topography and rate of vaporization are obtained. Conditions for observing low evaporation coefficients are described. Keywords
