Superconducting properties of high-TcBi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O thin films

Abstract
Polycrystalline thin films of the high-Tc Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system have been grown on MgO substrates using an rf magnetron sputtering technique. The Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O thin films with a sharp superconducting transition were obtained after the post-annealing. The best sample exhibits the transition temperature of around 110 K with zero-resistance temperature of about 100 K. The critical current density of the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system is estimated to be 105 to 2×105 A/cm2 at 77 K
