Abstract
Treatment of 5 cases of miliary tuberculosis is noted, with survival of 3 for >2 yrs. All cases were in children. Pulmonary lesions regressed slowly; lesions of the spine and kidney were observed to progress. Thyroid enlargement was observed in several of the cases, with changes similar to those seen in animals treated with certain sulfones and sulfonamides. Treatment with thyroid extract produced diminution in size of the organ. Enlargement of the nipples and other effects on secondary sexual hirsuties were observed. Keywords
