Lifetimes of the First Excited States ofF17andB10

Abstract

The mean life of the first excited state of ${\mathrm{F}}^{17}$ has been measured using a pulsed-beam technique. The mean life is definitely ${\mathrm{F}}^{17}$. A measurement of the mean life of the first excited state of ${\mathrm{B}}^{10}$ gave a value of (0.90±0.1) mμsec.
