Abstract
A method is described for applying sampling to conventional digital averaging methods to increase bandwidth to 30 Mc. An oscilloscope and a sampling unit are used with a modified pulse‐height analyzer. Results are shown for the application of the method to retrieve a weak, 1 μsec risetime infrared detector signal from noise. A simplified method that does not require a digital averaging device is also described. Extension of the time range for both methods is discussed. Keywords
