Abstract
A detailed histochemical distribution of monoamine oxidase in the various constituents of the different cerebellar layers has been described. The significance of the intracellular distribution of the enzyme in Purkinje cells and the glomeruli of the granular layer was discussed in relation to the identical distribution of mitochondria and the oxidative enzymes, and with non-identical distribution of specific cholinesterase. Some remarks on the positive nature of the myelin sheaths of the nerves of the white matter and the granular layer have also been made.
