Abstract
The infrared spectra from 4000–80 cm−1 of the hydrates and anhydrous salt of UO2(NO3)2 and Th(NO3)4 have been obtained. The change in symmetry of the nitrate group is followed and discussed, and metal to coordinated nitrate assignments made. Keywords
