Abstract
A method is described for preparing a nuclear fraction from tobacco leaf homogenates. Following differential centrifugation approximately 20% of the DNA of the homogenate may be recovered in this fraction as microscopically recognizable nuclei. The nuclear fraction will incorporate labeled cytidine and ATP into an RNA fraction. The incorporation is dependent upon the presence of a mixture of the nucleoside triphosphates. Nuclear fractions obtained from normal and TMV infected plants do not differ significantly in rate of incorporation. This publication has 17 references indexed in Scilit:
