Abstract
The () reaction was used to measure the proton atomic stopping power for 3.75- to 5.5-MeV protons on Ag, Cd, In, and Sn. One feature of the method is that the foils were mounted on solid backings. The results are expressed by means of the Bethe relativistic stopping-power formula in terms of a single parameter corresponding to 39.35±0.2 keV /mg for 4.5-MeV protons on Ag. This result is in excellent agreement with other recent work with different techniques.
