Inhibition of Hyaluronidase by Aromatic Compounds

Abstract
In a controlled study, it was found that the essential chemical structure for hyaluronidase inhibition was the phenoxy group. The activity was increased by lengthening the carbonic side chain and/or substituting chlorine, nitro and amino groups. In a group of 22 compounds, Na salicylate and its metabolic product, Na gentisate, were the weakest inhibitors.
