Search for an Isotope Effect in Diffusion ofC14-Substituted Benzenes in Unlabeled Benzene at 25°C

Abstract
Tracer-diffusion coefficients are presented for several C14-substituted benzenes of varying molecular weight diffusing in unlabeled benzene at 25°C. The data, which were obtained with one magnetically stirred diaphragm cell, are compared with data in the literature and indicate that a very slight isotope effect is present in this nonpolar liquid.
