Abstract
Elevated levels of serum angiotensin-converting enzyme were detected in 24% of 265 patients with diabetes mellitus. The elevations correlated strongly with the presence of severe retinopathy. Diabetes mellitus must be considered when an assay of serum angiotensin-converting enzyme is used to confirm a diagnosis of sarcoidosis. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
