Abstract
1. The technique for aspiration of human bone marrow for intravenous use, from the posterior iliac spine, is described in detail. The yield of nucleated cells from a single donor should be not lees than 5–10 × 109, this requiring 200 ml or more to be aspirated. 2. A simple method for removal of fat and filtration of the marrow within a closed-circuit system is developed. Using bone marrow from rats, there was no significant reduction of the number of megakaryocytes in a suspension which had passed a stainless steel screen with meshes of 105 μm.Keywords
