Abstract
Congenital idiopathic methemoglobinemia in a 12.yr.-old boy was corrected by admn. of ascorbic acid or methylene blue. Para-amino-propriophenone and NaNO2 increased the methemoglobin level. No "cytochrome-reductase like" activity was demonstrated in the cell. Enzyme studies revealed no difference in O2 uptake of hexosediphosphate in a medium which contained glucose. Keywords
