Abstract
It is suggested that transition of the Coster-Kronig type take place in excited La3+ ions having a configuration 3d3/2-14f1. Their presence can explain the intensity of the 3d3/2 resonant emission and the broadening of the 1P1 absorption line with respect to the 3D1 line in the 3d La3+ photoabsorption process. Keywords
